This entry is oriented toward the offspring of George Stratton and Melva Holloway Stratton -- who were the first Strattons to occupy Stratton House Inn. It traces the family tree back to Edward Faulke, who was an ancestor of King Alfred the Great.

1. Melva Willets Holloway, 1872-1960
Melva was born in Flushing, Oh November 13, 1872. She married George W. Stratton May 2, 1900. Melva died in Flushing, Oh, in 1960. Her body was interred in Flushing Friends Cemetery, Flushing, Oh.

2. Ephraim Holloway, 1845-1887
His body was interred in Flushing, Oh. Ephraim was born in Flushing, Oh April 7, 1845. He married Semira Clementine Purviance in Flushing, Belmont Cty, Oh, June 1, 1870. Ephraim died May 4, 1887 in Flushing, Oh, at 42 years of age. Attended Westtown Friends School, PA, around 1867.

3. Semira Clementine Purviance, 1847- ??
Semira was born September 21, 1847. She married Ephraim Holloway in Flushing, Belmont Cty, Oh, June 1, 1870.

4. Samuel G. Holloway, 1813-1852
His body was interred in Chestnut Hill, Oh. Samuel was born September 23, 1813. He married Mary Hoge in Flushing, Belmont Cty, Oh, May 2, 1832. Samuel died July 23, 1852 in Flushing, Belmont Cty, Oh, at 38 years of age. Lived in Belmont County, OH. On 6-25-1852, he was granted a certificate to Chesterfield M/M.

5. Mary Hoge, 1811-1877
Her body was interred in Flushing, Belmont Cty, Oh. Mary was born September 11, 1811. She married Samuel G. Holloway in Flushing, Belmont Cty, Oh, May 2, 1832. Mary died August 22, 1877 at 65 years of age.

6. David Purviance, 1804-1853
His body was interred in Flushing M/m, Belmont Cty, Oh. David was born in Smithfield, Oh April 8, 1804. He married Sara Willits in Smithfield, Oh, March 28, 1827. David died September 14, 1853 in Flushing, Belmont Cty, Oh, at 49 years of age. Lived in Jefferson County, OH.

7. Sara Willits, 1807-1889
Sara was born in Brownsville, Pa April 8, 1807. She married David Purviance in Smithfield, Oh, March 28, 1827. Sara died September 5, 1889 in Flushing, Belmont Cty, Oh, at 82 years of age.

14 Ellis Willets, d. 1854
Ellis was born in Jefferson Cty, Oh. His body was interred in Smithfield M/m, Oh. He married Hannah Coldren January 1805. Ellis died June 2, 1868. Quaker records show Ellis was disowned by Redstone, PA, Montly Meeting on 5-30-1806. Then, Smithfield, OH, Monthly Meeting restored him to membership on 5-2-1821. He is shown as living at Plainfield, OH, Monthly Meeting in 1831. Short Creek Monthly Meeting records show that he died 12-4-1854.

15. Hannah Coldren, d. 1844
Her body was interred in Smithfield M/m, Oh. She married Ellis Willets January 1805. Hannah died October 21, 1844. Short Creek, OH, Monthly Meeting records show that Hannah died 10-21-1844, but the same records are questionable concerning her husband.

28. John Willets, 1750-1828
His body was interred in Sandy Creek, Redstone, Pa. John was born 1750. He married Rachel Hughes in Exeter M/m, Pa, June 11, 1772. John died July 11, 1828 in Redstone M/m, Pa, at 78 years of age. From Preston County, VA. John, Rachael, and children were received on certificate from Pipe Creek Monthly Meeting at Redstone, PA, Monthly Meeting on 6-21-1793.

29. Rachel Hughes, 1747-1830
Her body was interred in Sandy Creek. Rachel was born 1747. She married John Willets in Exeter M/m, Pa, June 11, 1772. Rachel died August 8, 1830 in Redstone M/m, Pa, at 83 years of age. Received at westland, PA, Monthly Meeting on certificate from Pipe Creek Monthly meeting. On 1-29-1794, Exeter, PA, Monthly Meeting reported that Rachel was married by a magistrate.

58. Samuel Hughes, 1722-1796
Samuel was born in Exeter M/m, Pa May 10, 1722. He married Elizabeth Willets April 10, 1747. Samuel died 1796 at 74 years of age. Lived at Elder and Maiden Creek. May have fought in Revolutionary War, pension application R5356, VA.

59. Elizabeth Willets, 1725-1753
Elizabeth was born 1725. She married Samuel Hughes April 10, 1747. Elizabeth died 1753 at 28 years of age.

116. Ellis Hughes, 1688-1764
His body was interred in Exeter, Bucks Cty, Pa. Ellis was born in Merionethshire, Wales 1688. He married Jane Foulke April 5, 1714. Ellis died January 11, 1764 in Berks Cty, Pa, at 75 years of age.

117. Jane Foulke, 1684-1766
Jane was born in Mammothshire, North Wales 1684. She married Ellis Hughes April 5, 1714. Jane died August 7, 1766 in Olney, (exeter), Berks Cty, Pa, at 82 years of age.

234. Edward Foulke, 1651-1741
He married Eleanor Rhys. Edward was born in Coedyfoel, Wales May 13, 1651. Edward died November 8, 1741 in Pa, at 90 years of age.

235. Eleanor Rhys, d. 1733
She married Edward Foulke. Eleanor died January 16, 1733.
