80-Year-Old Sample Flour Sacks

In pristine condition, and very limited quantities

During the 1920s, these sacks were used by "the Pancake Man" to send samples to stores -- and individuals "at a distance" who requested samples of Whole-Wheat Self-Rising Pancake Flour. In clearing out Stratton House following the death of the last miller, a small number of these sample sacks were found stored in a closet under the main staircase, where they probably were placed almost 80 years ago. These few sacks are in pristine, "as new" condition, despite their age. They are both old and rare as well as beautiful examples of product advertising. They can be framed as a work of art -- as is an example at Stratton House Inn. These few, special sacks are not for sale, but ONE will be given -- if specifically requested, and as long as supplies last -- to persons making tax-deductible contributions of $100 or more to the Stratton Mill Foundation. We want these special sacks to go to persons who will appreciate and preserve the sacks, and pass them on to future generations.

80-Year-Old Corn Meal Boxes

In pristine condition, and very limited quantities

During the 1920s, these boxes were used to package corn meal for display and point-of-sale on store shelves. They were used into the 1930s. In clearing out Stratton House following the death of the last miller, a small number of these boxes were found stored in a closet under the main staircase, where they probably were placed almost 80 years ago. These few boxes are "flat" -- as shipped to Stratton House by the original manufacturer of the boxes. They are in pristine, "as new" condition, despite their age. They are both old and rare as well as beautiful examples of product advertising. They can be framed as a work of art, or folded and used as a three-dimensional decoration. These few boxes are not for sale, but ONE will be given -- if specifically requested, and as long as supplies last -- to persons making tax-deductible contributions of $100 or more to the Stratton Mill Foundation. We want these boxes to go to persons who will appreciate and preserve them, and pass them on to future generations.
